Academic Board

The CMRS Academic Board has responsibility for oversight of all aspects of CMRS academic programmes, including the range of courses offered, course outcomes and the academic standards of CMRS students.  The Board meets formally once a year to receive reports from CMRS officers, and informally as required. Both the universities and colleges of the CMRS Consortium and the wider Oxford scholarly community are represented.

The members of the Academic Board are:

  • Professor Paul Monod (Chair) A. Barton Hepburn Professor of History, Middlebury College, VT.
  • Professor Ralph Hanna, presently Fellow of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University (Professor Emeritus of Palaeography in the University of Oxford, Professor Emeritus of English, the University of California, Riverside).
  • Professor Theodore K. Lerud Associate Dean and Professor of English, Elmhurst College, IL.
  • Professor Victoria Morse, Co-Director of the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program, Director of the ‘Visualizing the Liberal Arts’ Program, and Associate Professor of History at Carleton College.
  • Dr Lucy Wooding, Senior Lecturer in Early Modern History, King’s College, London.
In addition, Dr Mark Philpott of CMRS will serve as non-voting secretary to the Board.
