Publications include ‘Robert Everard’ in Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (2004);  and (as joint author) Restoration Politics, Religion and Culture Britain and Ireland, 1660-1714 (2009); (with Anna Bayman) ‘Shrews in pamphlets and plays’, in D. Wootton and G. Holderness (eds), Gender and Power in Shrew-Taming Narratives, 1500-1700 (2010).  Forthcoming publications include ‘The political poetry of Dissent in Restoration England’; and English Nonconformist Poetry 1660-1700 (3 vols).

Research and teaching interests include the experiences of dissenters during the English Republic and Restoration; and early modern literary culture.
